Change

Although have been absent from (writing) blogs for quite a while something clicked while watching the movie "Gandhi" on Sony Pix. Certain things which like

1. The roads that we have today are still the same as it was during his time .. Dusty and potholed

2. Villages are still the same .. offlimit ... hard to reach .. haven't changed even with our own country (wo)men ruling us

3. The rulers .. they are looking similar to what we had at that time ..

4. Media still reports only what it wants (asked) to report.

5. Women are still carrying water on their head from far.

During my school days i had read a story "Namak Ka Daroga" by Premchand. This was in Hindi and part of our course, The story was set in pre-independence days to highlight the prevalent corruption we had in government. How a Daroga catches a very rich man smuggling salt. Very soon almost everyone from courts to his seniors get into an overdrive to save the rich guy. Finally the Daroga gets dumped. Contrast this with what we see today. I am pretty sure the outcome would still be the same. The honest Daroga will still get dumped.

  1. There are many more which are not changed and are still ruining the nation's growth. Take for example the laws and regulations, many laws and regulations in government offices are still the same that were applied at the time British raj which were meant to diminish the Indianness from Indians. Even the education system as well, Lord Mechelle clear intention behind putting education system was to demolish the ancient highly efficient Gurukula system and to create such educated citizens who are just mentally slaves of west and do not have any passion towards India.
But hopes and war is still on and will be continued till the right things wins. For it to happen we need to adopt the courage, selflessness, determinant from that our freedom fighters had to stop the injustice on people. And these days reminds us the duty towards the nation also the path which we should follow and to be role model like them.

  2. I agree. In vast parts of India, things have not changed. In fact these days you will find it virtually impossible to find even an honest daroga. When people have to pay huge sums of money to get that job, how can they ever be honest? The whole system has become one well-oiled machine designed for protecting the corrupt and maximising their returns.

  3. Sadly, what you write is true. Though on the surface things may sometimes seem to have changed, underneath they are still the same.

Without the will to bring about change, we can do nothing about it.

  4. Nothing has and nothing may actually change as our political system is in the hands of few handful, self cantered people.
It is very difficult to find even one single honest policeman when the police stations are being auctioned?
